Description: Whitetail Deer weigh from 57 to
140 kg and vary in length from 160 to 220 cm. Males are larger than the
females. Their coat color varies from gray in winter to reddish-brown in
summer. This species got its name due to the white tail that is posterior
and is seen when the deer bounds away. Also these deer have white patches on
their face and lower legs.
The bucks begin growing antlers in the spring and in August and September.
The antlers become rather big allowing the males to participate in mating.
In January, the antlers are shed off. With each year of age the Whitetail
Deer grow larger antlers with more points that increases their chances to
get more females.
